THE SOL-STAR RUNES...

INTRODUCTION:

Like the original Norse runes, the SOL STAR RUNES were largely derived from the isometric GRID OF HAGAL (fig 1). The central part of the grid, highlighted in black, is where all of the Norse runes of the Elder Futhark were drawn. However, there is another closely related pattern commonly known in Sacred Geometry as the SEED OF LIFE (fig2) and is the underlying structure at the core of the larger FLOWER OF LIFE pattern. Both of these are 'honeycomb' patterns with 11 internal foci within a hexagram structure. Despite having different origins, the direct correlation between these two ancient geometric patterns can clearly be seen when they are overlaid (fig 3).

The SOL STAR RUNES were created out of the SEED OF LIFE (S.O.L.) and its 11 inner foci where the circles overlap. Using the HAGAL GRID alignment as a reference, these foci were then connected vertically to form the 'HEART OF THE SEED' core geometric pattern from which all of the SOL-STAR RUNES were then drawn (fig 4).

At the centre of the Heart of the Seed, the 6-pointed SOL-STAR itself is clearly seen. This flower-like star represents the 'Pranic Core' contained within all living things of this world. It is the spark of life and light from the very star dust burning brightly within all of us, from whence we came and to which we must all, inevitably return; the Macro-cosmos and the Micro-cosmos.

Despite having its origins in Sacred Geometry dating back at least 6000 years, the SOL-STAR RUNES are actually a new and very unique set of runes that have been created following many years of study in both Sacred Geometry and magical writing systems as old as the origins of writing itself. Coupled with this, is my extensive research into the structure and nature of the cycles of time and space, together with the different energies that interact with each other to create what we call 'life'. These energies include the Electro-Magnetic Fields (EMF's) that permeate the entire known universe; the Biomagnetic Field (BMF) contained within the bodies of all living things; and the Geomagnetic Fields (GMF's) that encapsulate the Earth. These fields, when vibrating harmoniously and interacting together, unite the living mass covering our planet we call the 'Biosphere' into a single, living, evolving, symbiotic life-form ... GAIA or if you prefer, Mother Earth or even more simply, the Goddess. It is this interaction of energies that formed the seed of life known as 'PRANA', and it is this seed that is the SOL-STAR.

In Alchemy, it has long been taught that the light of the sun passes through the vapour in the Earth’s atmosphere, planting within it the Prana that activates life. It is for this reason that the ancient Priestesses, Druids and Alchemists would go out into the fields, or down to the small, flowing brooks at dawn during the first full moon following the Spring Equinox, to gather the first dew from the grasses at the very peak of Spring. This day was called EOSTAR (Also Eostre and Ostara) after the ancient Goddess of life and fertility who's name is the root of the word 'oestrogen', as well as the name of EASTER that is still celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full moon following the Spring Equinox today. Long before it was adopted by the Christian church, Easter was a much-loved Spring fertility festival. The gathered dew was recognised as being the most pranically activated and, thus, the most highly charged 'holy water' for all manner of ritual purposes. This included the laboratory process of alchemy itself, whereby this water was the secret of the 'Mothers Milk' (formed at the end of the first stage of the process) that was believed to give the gifts of eternal life/healing to those who ingested it. At the end of the second stage of the process came the sanguine red powder known as the much fabled 'Philosophers Stone' and the sum of all knowledge was given to those who also ingested that (albeit in very small, measured doses). It was NEVER actually about turning base metals into gold ... that was merely a symbolic reference for the transmutation and attainment of the greater wealth of all life some call 'enlightenment' (however, it was also a very handy tool of reference for alchemists applying for funds from their rich benefactors!).

so all things were produced from this one thing by adaptation.

This has more fortitude than fortitude itself,

because it conquers every subtle thing

and can penetrate every solid.

Thus was the world formed.

Hence proceed wonders, which are here established.

Therefore I am called Hermes Trismegistus,

having three parts of the philosophy of the whole world.

That which I had to say concerning the

operation of the sun is completed."

But what has all that got to do with these runes?

As a set of symbols used both as a form of writing, as well as an oracle for divination purposes, not a great deal really. But as a source of inspiration and connection to the forces inherent to all life during divination and ritual work, as well as a powerful cipher for the composition of sacred inscriptions, writings, etc. (i.e. Book of Shadows, Codex, and other journals that you want to be kept 'secret'). These runes are second to none! Why? Because they are made up of a combination of 26 consonant sounds coupled with an equal number of 26 vowel sounds that together, enable the user to utilise every harmonic sound used in English and other Latin based language systems during the processes of magical writing and ritual work.
